Robert Cook, Senior Vice President Market Development, Canadian Securities Exchange
Mr. Cook has been a member of the executive management team of the Canadian Securities Exchange since 2002. He currently serves on the Ontario Securities Commission’s Small and Medium Enterprise Advisory Committee. Immediately prior to joining the CSE, he held the position of V-P Market Surveillance, Market Regulation Services Inc., which was created in 2001 by the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE) and the Investment Dealers Association of Canada (IDA) to regulate Canadian markets.
Rob had a 19-year career at the Toronto Stock Exchange where he held a number of positions in listed company regulation including Director, Original Listings, followed by six years as Director, Market Surveillance. Before that he worked in the mining industry for three years as a mineral economist for a major mining company and an international consulting firm.
Rob holds an Honours BA in Economics from York University (1977) and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario (1979).
Jay King, Partner, Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP,
Jay King is a partner in the Business Law Group at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, and is a member of the firm’s Professional Resources Committee and REIT, Mining, Cannabis and Technology groups. Jay’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and regulatory compliance, in a broad range of industries including REITs, mining, cannabis and technology.
Jay has extensive experience advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions (US and International), including numerous M&A transactions, business combination transactions, change of control transactions, corporate reorganizations and going-public transactions. Jay also advises boards of directors and special committees on M&A matters, corporate governance and securities law compliance matters. Jay regularly deals with Canadian stock exchanges on behalf of clients, including the Canadian Securities Exchange, the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange. In addition, he routinely represents a wide variety of public and private companies as well as investment dealers in connection with various securities, corporate and commercial matters, including in connection with raising seed capital, private placements and public offerings.
Prior to attending law school, Jay earned an honours degree in music (B.Mus.) from Wilfrid Laurier University. In 2000, Jay performed the title role of Thésée in the Canadian premiere of Jean Baptist Lully’s opera by the same name.
Chris King, Senior Vice President International Corporate Services
Chris King leads the International Corporate Services group at OTC Markets and has assisted 950+ companies go public in the US on our OTCQX and OTCQB markets.
Chris began his tenure at OTC working with U.S. companies helping implement best practices, supporting private companies interested in going public, assisting issuers increase US investor engagement and achieving fair valuation.
Prior to OTC Markets, Chris served in various roles at DF King Worldwide, Capital Precision and Precision IR, helping hundreds of multinational blue-chip companies achieve their corporate objectives.
Chris holds a BA from the University of Wolverhampton, UK.
